UNC redshirt freshman quarterback Logan Byrd announced Wednesday on Twitter that he intends to transfer.
A 6-foot-3-inch native of Kathleen, Georgia, Byrd spent this past season as UNC’s fourth-string quarterback after redshirting during his first year in Chapel Hill.
He has not seen any action for the Tar Heels during a live game, instead spending most of his time with the scout team in practice.
Byrd was also ranked the No. 14 pro-style quarterback in the country by 24/7 Sports coming out of high school.
