A 6-1 victory on the road over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday moved the fifth-ranked UNC men’s tennis team to 4-0 against ACC opponents so far this season, as the Tar Heels continue to stay hot.
The doubles point went to UNC in quick fashion with a 6-0 victory from Simon Soendergaard and Mac Kiger on Court Three and a 6-2 victory by Blaine Boyden and Benjamin Sigouin on Court Two.
From there, the singles portion of the match played out much the same.
Notre Dame tied the team score for a brief moment with a straight set victory (6-1, 6-2) from Richard Ciamarra over Soendergaard, but UNC responded with five consecutive wins to close the deal.
The Tar Heels are now 13-3 overall this season, while the loss drops the Fighting Irish to 10-9 (2-2 ACC).
