Both UNC tennis teams played this weekend, but did not see the same results.

The No. 2 ranked women’s team was upset Saturday in Ann Arbor by No. 8 Michigan by a score of 5-2.

For the first time all season the Tar Heels dropped the double’s point. The top-ranked doubles team of Hayley Carter and Whitney Kay lost for the first time in a dual match the season, 6-4, to No. 26 Mira Ruder-Hook and Brienne Minor.

Carter and Kay both bounced back to win their singles match, but it was not enough for UNC to take the victory.

The men fared better, winning yet again to improve to 11-0 on the season.

The top-ranked Tar Heels took down Wofford 7-0, without dropping a single set.

After taking the doubles point, Jack Murray and Stuart DePaolo made quick work of their single’s opponents, dropping two games combined.

Murray and DePaolo gave the Tar Heels a commanding 3-0 lead, which they carried to the finish.

The men next take on UNC-Greensboro on Wednesday and the women return to action against Miami on Friday.
