UNC LB Travis Hughes Suspended On Assault Charge

CHAPEL HILL – UNC linebacker Travis Hughes has been suspended from all team activities due to a misdemeanor assault charge following an altercation with a campus parking enforcement officer, WRAL reports.

Kevin Best, UNC football team spokesman, confirmed to multiple news outlets that campus police charged Hughes Thursday morning after the altercation, which happened on campus.

Best said UNC head coach Larry Fedora suspended Hughes immediately when he learned of the incident.

University police spokesman Randy Young told WRAL in an email that no one was injured during the altercation.
