With the release of the new college football AP and USA Today Coaches Polls on Tuesday, the UNC football team took another disappointing loss.

The Tar Heels–who were previously ranked No. 22–were left out of both top 25 rankings this week coming off a heartbreaking collapse against Georgia, which moved up to No. 9 after beginning the year at No. 18.

Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Ohio State represent the nation’s top four teams in each poll.

Louisville (No. 13) and Miami (FL) (No. 25) give the ACC four ranked teams this week following UNC’s exit.

The Tar Heels will have a chance to rejoin the rankings with a strong showing against Illinois on the road this Saturday.

At this point last season, however, UNC needed a seven-game win streak following its season-opening loss in order to get back into the polls.
