UNC Field Hockey, Volleyball Remain Undefeated

CHAPEL HILL –  A pair of undefeated Carolina teams kept their records unblemished this weekend in dominating fashion: UNC Field Hockey took down Virginia 2-1 on Friday and VCU 6-0 on Sunday, and UNC Volleyball swept the ACC-Big Ten Challenge with a sweep of Illinois on Friday and a 3-1 win against Indiana Saturday.

The No. 1 field hockey team will no doubt hold onto the top spot when the polls are released Monday; the No. 15 volleyball team could make a big move with quite a few teams with losses in front of it and the quality wins continue to come in.

ACC play continues Friday evening for the Tar Heel field hockey team with a rivalry matchup against the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils.

The volleyball tosses up the serve of conference play Wednesday against rival N.C.State in Chapel Hill. Last year, the teams took wins on their home courts, and the Tar Heels are hoping to at least start that way. That matchup can be seen on ESPNU Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
