As ACC continues to release its fall sports All-Academic Teams, the UNC field hockey squad was recognized Wednesday with five players receiving the honor.

Tar Heels named to the roster include: seniors Emma Bozek (Business Administration), Julia Young (Exercise and Sport Science) and Samantha Night (Public Policy), as well as junior Ashley Hoffman (Exercise and Sport Science) and sophomore Malin Evert (Sociology).

Bozek–a four-time All-Academic selection–was also named the ACC’s Scholar Athlete of the Year.

For Young, Night and Evert, they each are earning their second selections to the list for a second time.

Each of these players played a part in UNC’s run to the NCAA Championship Game, where a loss to Delaware stopped them just short of a national title.

Minimum requirements include a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester, as well as for each player’s cumulative academic career. Performance on the field during the most recent season is also considered.
