In its final home game of the regular season, No. 15 North Carolina hosts Virginia Thursday at 7 p.m. in Carmichael Arena.

Last season in Charlottesville, UNC came away with a narrow 80-74 win and has repeatedly dominated the series between these two teams as UVA has lost 18 of its last 19 meetings with Carolina.

This year alone, Carolina’s defense has limited 9 of its last 10 ACC opponents to less than 40 percent shooting from the field. Offensively, UNC is 11-0 when four or more players finish in double-digit scoring. UNC’s offensive pressure is coming from where it has always been, while also benefiting from bench players. Leading scorer sophomore guard Allisha Gray can finish out the regular season as a member of the prestigious 1,000 point club, as she only trails by 46 points.

Along with the snowy weather, unranked UVA will also be bringing some rain. The Cavaliers are shooting an ACC-best 37.3 percent from behind the three-point line. Freshman guard Mikayla Venson leads not only the Cavaliers but also the conference with 40 percent of three pointers made. Venson has also hit at least one three in eight of her last nine games.

As a part of senior night, UNC will briefly honor its veteran players Brittany Rountree, Latifah Coleman, Danielle Butts, Whitney Adams and Megan Buckland.

Next up for the Tar Heels is a rivalry rematch against Duke in Durham on Sunday at 3 p.m. In their last meeting, Carolina suffered a heart wrenching overtime loss in Carmichael.
