The bats showed up at Boshamer Stadium yet again for the UNC baseball team on Sunday afternoon, as the Tar Heels scored at least once in the first five innings on the way to a 13-2 blowout victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Panthers.

Michael Busch and Brandon Riley each homered in the game for UNC (12-8), while Zack Gahagan added three hits and Ike Freeman chipped in three hits and four RBIs.

It completed a clean three-game sweep where the Tar Heels outscored the Panthers 32-5, including a 15-3 victory in Friday’s series opener.

Sunday saw UNC build a 7-0 lead through three innings and never look back, as Pittsburgh (11-8) tallied its only scoring of the game with two runs in the top of the fourth.

Taylor Sugg picked up the win on the mound for the Tar Heels after throwing 5.1 innings, his second pitching victory of the season.
