Seedings for this weekend’s ACC Wrestling Tournament in Chapel Hill were announced Tuesday by the league office, with UNC 149-pounder Troy Heilmann the only Tar Heel to earn the top spot in his respective weight class.

Heilmann has posted a 27-4 record so far in his senior season, and is the eighth-ranked 149-pound wrestler in the country.

By virtue of earning a top-two seed, he’ll get a first round bye into the semifinals in front of the home crowd at Carmichael Arena.

Ethan Ramos–who earned the No. 2 seed at 174 pounds–is the only other Tar Heel who will receive a bye.

Ramos is also the only Tar Heel to have previously won an ACC title, which he did back in 2016.

All of the wrestlers will be competing not just for ACC glory, but also to gain entry into this year’s NCAA Wrestling Championships.

The tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday at 11 a.m.
