The National Field Hockey Coaches Association released its Division I All-American teams on Tuesday, with three Tar Heels earning the prestigious honor.

Defender Ashley Hoffman and midfielder Eva Van’t Hoog were each named First Team All-Americans, while midfielder Malin Evert earned a spot on the Third Team.

All three players are juniors.

UNC was one of only four schools to have more than one player named to the First Team, and was one of just six schools to have at least three All-Americans in total.

Hoffman was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year this past season for the Tar Heels, while also tying Evert for the team lead with 11 goals.

Van’t Hoog, meanwhile, was a dual threat for head coach Karen Shelton as she tallied seven goals and 12 assists en route to also earning All-ACC and All-NCAA Tournament honors.

The Tar Heels (18-5) reached their ninth consecutive Final Four this season before losing in a penalty shootout to eventual national champion UCONN in the NCAA Semifinals.
