CHAPEL HILL – After four straight overtime contests, Carolina wasn’t able to extend its match against William & Mary, falling 1-0 when The Tribe found the back of the net late in the second half.

The win against Carolina is the second huge scalp for the William & Mary team. The Tribe has now beaten two No. 1 ranked teams in the nation this season.

Tuesday’s goal broke the 351-minute scoreless streak pitched by UNC that dated back to the first half of the match against Maryland on Sept. 13. UNC, now 3-1-3, led 10-8 in shots, and both clubs played four corner kicks.

Next up, Carolina visits Wake Forest on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Winston-Salem.
