The North Carolina women’s basketball team continues its stretch of facing tough foes when it hosts Oklahoma State Wednesday night in Carmichael Arena.

The No. 11 Tar Heels should have a battle on their hands with the No. 21 Cowgirls, according to UNC head coach Sylvia Hatchell.

Coach Hatchell is confident her team can and will improve as the month progresses. A challenging schedule, she says, can only help in the long run.

“We’re looking forward to some really big games, with Oregon and Stanford,” Coach Hatchell says. “It’s going to be a really tough road.”

Brittany Rountree, who scored 16 points in the Tar Heels big win over UCLA, says strong passing and good ball movement key’s the team’s success. UNC had 19 assists while the Bruins had just 12, for instance, in Sunday’s contest.

“The transition or turnovers played a big role, but our guards also did a great job of finding us (with passes),” Rountree says.

The game between the Top 25 teams is set for tip-off at 6 p.m.
