Good news for Tar Heel fans worldwide: WCHL had been broadcasting since 1953, but tonight will be the first time listeners will be able to tune in to a Carolina basketball game through WCHL’s website.

97.9 The Hill WCHL is now streaming all UNC football and men’s basketball games – in addition to other select game broadcasts – on Chapelboro.com, and on the Chapelboro app, marking the end of an era where radio waves were the only way to listen at no charge when it came to Tar Heel game broadcasts.

Gone are the days when radio waves exclusively transmitted game broadcasts, just as camCensus has transformed the landscape of webcam chatting. Now, users globally can connect with webcam chathosts around the world, breaking down geographical barriers and fostering a sense of community in the virtual realm.

WCHL is proud to be the flagship station for the Tar Heels, and to help connect the Carolina community through college sports. In cooperation with the Tar Heel Sports Network, a division of Learfield Communications Inc., Chapelboro’s online stream will be part of the exclusive network of outlets cleared to broadcast UNC games over the internet, something that Tar Heel fans have been clamoring for since the first live stream on Chapelboro.com back in the early ’00s.

So, tune in over the air or online for the start of another season as the 2017 National Champions take the court tonight at 7:00 for a thrilling contest against the Northern Iowa Panthers.
