Much like their women’s counterparts, the UNC men’s lacrosse team appears to have forgotten how to lose.

The Tar Heels opened 2017 with their third consecutive victory after defeating Lehigh 15-8 on Saturday at Fetzer Field–this after closing last year with the program’s first ever national title.

Despite losing the top spot in the Inside Lacrosse Top 25–dropping down to No. 3 this week–UNC put together yet another blowout win.

Senior Luke Goldstock led the way with five goals on Saturday, as head coach Joe Breschi’s squad continues to boast an average margin of victory of nearly eight goals per game this season.

William Perry added three goals to the Tar Heels’ total, while last year’s Final Four hero Chris Cloutier notched a pair.

Lehigh jumped out to a 2-0 lead early on, but UNC took control of the game for good by scoring six of the next seven goals and never looking back.

The schedule gets considerably tougher for the Tar Heels over the next few weeks, however.

First is a home game against No. 5 Johns Hopkins next Saturday, with a visit to face No. 1 Denver looming the week after.
