Sporting News released its annual preseason men’s basketball All-American teams on Wednesday, with UNC senior point guard Joel Berry named a Third Team selection.

Berry was also recently named to the preseason All-ACC First Team, and is a popular choice to contend for many National Player of the Year awards.

The Most Outstanding Player of the 2017 Final Four during the Tar Heels’ national championship run last season, Berry will miss the first handful UNC’s games this season with a broken hand–but is expected to take on a large role in the team’s effort to defend its title.

He is joined on the Sporting News Third Team All-America by: Arizona forward DeAndre Ayton, Texas A&M forward Robert Williams, Seton Hall center Angel Delgado and Saint Mary’s center Jock Landale.

First Team selections include: Missouri forward Michael Porter Jr., Michigan State forward Miles Bridges, Notre Dame forward Bonzie Colson, Duke guard Grayson Allen, and Villanova guard Jalen Brunson.
