Despite a hyper-efficient 31 points from junior guard Paris Kea, the UNC women’s basketball team couldn’t quite keep pace with the Miami Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon at Carmichael Arena–falling by a score of 92-72.

Kea converted on 11 of her 16 shots from the floor and made five three-pointers on the way to her fourth 30-point game of the year, but the Tar Heels (14-9, 4-6 ACC) weren’t able to match Miami’s depth.

Freshman forward Janelle Bailey added 14 points and senior guard Jamie Cherry chipped in 12 to represent the other two players in double figures for head coach Sylvia Hatchell.

The UNC bench, however, was outscored by a wide margin of 31-5.

Miami (16-7, 6-4 ACC) had nine players score at least four points, converted on eight of its 14 three-point attempts and out-rebounded the Tar Heels 45-31.

Erykah Davenport led the way for the visitors with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

The Hurricanes built a nine-point halftime lead, which was extended to as many as 26 midway through the fourth quarter.
