CHAPEL HILL – The No. 1 UNC baseball team faces by far its toughest opponent of the season this weekend when the Tar Heels travel to Raleigh to do battle with the No. 6 N.C. State Wolfpack.

North Carolina is unbeaten on the road (8-0) this season and swept conference foes Wake Forest and Virginia Tech away from Boshamer Stadium.

N.C. State holds the nation’s longest current winning of 15 games which is the second longest for the Pack since 16 straight in 2003.

Both teams lead their respective divisions; Carolina has a three-game lead on Virginia in the Coastal; State is one game ahead of Florida State in the Atlantic.

Carolina will likely put Friday’s starter, junior Kent Emanuel on the mound for the 6:30 p.m. first pitch. Emanuel is 8-1 on the season and throwing a 1.82 earned run average.
