UNC sophomore midfielder Cam Lindley was one of 31 NCAA Division I men’s soccer players named to the watch list for this year’s Hermann Trophy on Tuesday–the award given each year to the most outstanding male and female player in the nation.

Lindley started in the midfield for all 21 of the Tar Heels’ matches last season, picking up ACC Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-American honors as the team reached the NCAA Semifinals.

Top Drawer Soccer also named Lindley its National Freshman of the Year for his efforts.

He tallied a total of seven assists throughout the year–helping UNC post the 10th most prolific offense in America at 1.93 goals per game.

The winner of this year’s Hermann Award will be announced Friday, January 5 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
