TEMPE, AZ – The UNC men’s golf team closed out the first round of NCAA Regional play tied for fourth on Thursday.
North Carolina and four other teams shot an even-par, 280 in the first of three rounds. No. 4 UCLA led the field shooting -12—ten shots better than the number two finisher, No. 10 Duke.
Georgia, Texas A&M and North Carolina are the first to tee off round two beginning at 7:30 a.m. Pacific time. The Tempe Regional is being played at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona.
The top five teams and top individual not on a qualifying team advance to the NCAA Championship which is being played May 28 – June 2 at the Capital City Club, Crabapple Course in Atlanta.
