For the second time in four weeks this season, UNC junior forward Luke Maye has been named the ACC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The league announced its weekly awards on Monday, with Maye’s efforts during the Tar Heels’ three victories proving to be more than enough to earn him the top honor.

UNC (8-1) defeated Michigan, Davidson and Tulane last week with the Huntersville native averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 blocks per game in those games.

Maye set a career high in field goals (11) against Michigan, a career high in rebounds (17) against Davidson and a career high in blocks (four) against Tulane.

The ACC previously recognized Maye with its Player of the Week honor–the first of his career–after the first week of the regular season.

He has scored at least 20 points in seven of UNC’s first nine games, and has posted five double-doubles.

Duke freshman forward Marvin Bagley III was this week’s ACC Rookie of the Week.
