Roy Williams has been added to the list of prospective head coaches for the Los Angeles Lakers, according to the LA Times.

Williams declined the interview in 2004, and there’s no word whether he’ll interview this time around. However, there’s no surprise he’s been added to the list again since general manager Mitch Kupchak is a graduate of UNC.

UNC Athletic Department spokesman Steve Kirschner told WCHL that Williams is currently out of town. Williams has not indicated his intent to interview for the Lakers job, but Kirschner says Williams “typically does not comment on coaching searches, college or pro.”

The Times reports that others on the list of potential interviews for the job include former UNC player George Karl and Kentucky coach John Calipari.
