UNC point guard Joel Berry is among 30 nominees for the Senior CLASS Award in college basketball, it was announced on Sunday.

To be eligible for the award, players must be seniors who have achieved in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. 

The acronym “CLASS” stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, with the honor meant to recognize athletes who use their platform to positively impact their communities.

Both the male and female winners of the award will be revealed at the 2018 Final Four.
