CARRBORO – UNC Baseball head coach Mike Fox had some good news about freshman Skye Bolt during his weekly radio show Monday night.

“He is cleared, and he’s ready to go,” Coach Fox said.

That announcement comes just in time for the freshman phenom to get back into the swing of things before the ACC tournament begins next Wednesday. Bolt broke his foot when a foul ball struck it in mid-April.

The week before he traveled to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech series, the head Tar Heel said he was concerned about how poorly his team has historically played in Atlanta. However, despite the series loss, Coach Fox said both teams gave their all in the Coastal Division matchup.

“It was a great series,” Coach Fox said. “Unfortunately we didn’t win it. Two really good teams competed hard, and (there were) some really good players on the field on both teams.”

The 2-1 series decision was the first series loss of the season for Carolina.
