The North Carolina track and field teams will be busy in two separate locales this weekend with one week to go before the NCAA Regionals.
The Georgia Tech Invitational is a two-day meet beginning Friday at noon with the hammer throw. Running events will commence at 5:30 p.m. Saturday’s action includes pole vaulting and high jump, as well as the remainder of the running events.
Most of the Tar Heels will be traveling down to Georgia, but a few will compete closer to home.
The Wolfpack Last Chance in Raleigh is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. The first event will be men’s javelin with track races to follow at 6 p.m.
Although most Carolina athletes have already qualified for the NCAA Regionals next week, it’s not merely a tune-up for everyone. Some will be battling it out for a slot in next week’s field of competitors.
