Junior midfielders Malin Evert and Eva Van’t Hoog were each named to the NCAA Field Hockey All-Tournament Team for their efforts during UNC’s run to its ninth straight Final Four appearance.
Van’t Hoog scored three of her seven goals this season in the NCAA Tournament, while Evert helped provide a steadying force on both ends of the field.
The Tar Heels–who finished the year with a record of 18-5–lost in a penalty shootout to undefeated national champion UCONN in the NCAA Semifinals after Van’t Hoog scored a goal in the final minutes to send the game into overtime.
Both players were also All-ACC selections earlier this season, along with teammate Ashley Hoffman.
