CHAPEL HILL– Junior Eric Ebron is no doubt the premier offensive catalyst for the Tar Heels. And the nation continues to take notice.

Ebron has been named to the John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List. 30 candidates were included on the prestigious list. The award goes to the most outstanding tight end in college football.

Ebron leads the team in both receptions and receiving yards. And he is on pace to eclipse his own school records in both categories.

Opponents must go out of their way to game plan for the dynamic tight end. Miami Head Coach Al Golden told WCHL earlier this week that there is really no way to fully shut down Ebron.

The winner of the Mackey Award will be selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and will be presented Dec. 12 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show.
