PHILADELPHIA, PA– Carolina soccer standouts Crystal Dunn and Kealia Ohai were selected 1-2 and defender Megan Brigman was taken in the second round of the 2014 National Women’s Soccer League Draft on Friday.

Dunn, already a starting defender on the U.S. National Team, was the top choice in the draft by the Washington Spirit.

Dunn was a consensus All-American the past two years and won the 2012 Hermann Trophy given to the top female soccer athlete.

Ohai was picked second by the Houston Dash. She will join former Tar Heels Meghan Klingenberg, who was selected last week by Houston in the NWSL Expansion Draft, as well as Nikki Washington, who was traded to the Dash.

Ohai was the Offensive MVP of the 2012 NCAA College Cup and claimed the prestigious Senior CLASS Award in 2013.

Brigman was selected in the second round with the 17th overall pick by Seattle. Brigman led UNC in minutes played during three seasons, including her senior year when she played 2204 minutes and led UNC in assists while starting 24 games as a defender.
