The runs continue to pile up for the UNC baseball team, which rolled to a 13-1 victory over the Maryland Terrapins on Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium.

It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Tar Heels (13-8), who have scored a combined 45 runs during the streak–an average of over 11 per game.

Maryland, meanwhile, dropped to 9-11 this season with the loss.

Zack Gahagan hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning to give UNC a lead it would continue to extend throughout the day–never once running into any trouble.

The Tar Heels scored in each of the first five innings, before adding four more runs on a grand slam by Michael Busch in the the seventh to reach their final total.

Busch and Kyle Datres led the charge for UNC, as the pair combined for two home runs, five hits, and six RBIs in the game.

The game also saw the Tar Heels rack up a season high 18 hits, as the offense finally appears to be rounding into midseason form.

Junior right-hander Rodney Hutchison earned the win on the mound after tossing seven innings and allowing just one run in the top of the sixth.

Hutchison has now thrown 16 innings in his last two starts and surrendered just the lone run.
