The UNC baseball team opened 2017 with a bang this past weekend at Boshamer Stadium, with its three-game sweep over the Kentucky Wildcats.

As a result, the Diamond Heels held their spot at No. 9 in the D1Baseball.com Top 25.

Not much movement took place at the top of the poll this week, with the top nine teams all staying exactly as they were in the preseason.

TCU sits atop the poll, with Florida, Florida State, South Carolina and LSU making up the rest of the top five–a group that includes three teams from the SEC.

The ACC continues to stake its claim as one of the best baseball conferences in America, however, as it has seven ranked schools in total, compared to the SEC’s six.

Florida State is the league’s top-ranked team, with No. 6 NC State and the Tar Heels checking in just behind.

Louisville (No. 10), Virginia (No. 14), Miami (No. 21) and Clemson (No. 22) are the other ACC squads among the top 25.

UNC will attempt to continue its undefeated season with four home games this week. The Tar Heels will host Gardner-Webb on Wednesday, before bringing in Radford for three-game set over the weekend.
