CHAPEL HILL– You won’t have to travel far to attend the 2014 NCAA Tournament. UNC has been named as a host site for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.

And the Tar Heels will no doubt be hoping to be featured in those postseason home court contests.

Selected by the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Committee, Chapel Hill is joined by other notable host cities including Durham, College Park, Md., Baton Rouge, La., and Knoxville, Tenn.

“The committee continues to look for ways to create a better in-arena atmosphere for our student-athletes, improve attendance and enhance the broadcast look of the games,” Carolayne Henry, chair of the Division I Women’s Basketball Committee, says.

Chapel Hill, along with all the other host sites, will see game action either Sat., March 22, and Mon., March 24 or Sun., March 23, and Tues., March 25 in 2014.

From there, all roads lead to Nashville, where the Women’s Final Four is set to be played April 6 and 8 at Bridgestone Arena.
