A pair of Tar Heels were named Tuesday to different men’s soccer National Teams of the Week.

Sophomore midfielder Cam Lindley and freshman forward Lucas del Rosario each earned the honor after helping UNC to wins over Old Dominion and Virginia Tech.

Top Drawer Soccer included del Rosario on its National Team of the Week, while Lindley was selected as part of College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week.

In the Tar Heels’ thrilling comeback win over Old Dominion, del Rosario came in off the bench and tied the game with a goal in the 88th minute–before netting the game-winner in double overtime.

The goals doubled the Durham native’s season total and showed why he came to Chapel Hill as one of the nation’s top high school recruits.

Lindley, meanwhile, continued to assert himself as the Tar Heels’ unquestioned leader.

In UNC’s 4-0 victory over Virginia Tech last Sunday, he tallied a goal and an assist–bringing his season assist total to 10.

The last time a Tar Heel recorded double digit assists in a season was in 2011 when Enzo Martinez tallied 11 on the way to the program’s first–and only–national championship.

After clinching a third straight ACC Coastal Division title, this UNC team will close out its regular season with a home game in Cary against Notre Dame this Friday.
