On the heels of being named a finalist for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, Brice Johnson has been named a semifinalist for the Naismith Award.

Johnson is one of 10 players who are still in the running for the award given annually to the nation’s best player.

He is 10th in the nation with 18 double-doubles this season.

With 16.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, Johnson in on pace to be the fifth Tar Heel in the past 39 years to average a double double for an entire season, joining John Henson, Tyler Hansbrough, Sean May and Antawn Jamison.

Duke’s Grayson Allen and Virginia’s Malcolm Brogdon are the other two ACC stars up for the award.

The list will be trimmed to four finalists on March 20 and the winner will be announced April 3 in Houston, during the Final Four.
