Yet another high-powered offensive performance helped lead the third-ranked UNC men’s soccer team to its ninth consecutive victory on Tuesday night.

The Tar Heels (11-1) received two goals apiece from Cam Lindley and Giovanni Montesdeoca at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, as they rolled to a 6-0 shutout victory over James Madison.

Lindley also assisted on Alan Winn’s team-high eighth goal of the season with a beautiful cross on a corner kick–opening the game’s scoring in the 39th minute.

Zach Wright also added a tally for the Tar Heels, who scored five of their six goals in the second half.

Defensively, UNC held James Madison (4-4-3) to just a single shot on goal throughout the entire match.

It was just the type of tune-up performance head coach Carlos Somoano had to have been looking for from his team–with a crucial test against No. 2 Wake Forest looming on Friday.
