The ACC announced Tuesday that UNC freshman Benjamin Sigouin has been named the league’s men’s tennis Player of the Week, after helping the Tar Heels to a pair of road wins over Florida State and Miami this past weekend.
Sigouin won each of his matches against the Seminoles and Hurricanes, and is 16-2 in singles competition this season–a record that includes eight wins over opponents ranked among the top 125.
The latest Oracle/ITA singles rankings have Sigouin as the No. 30 player in the nation and the Tar Heels No. 6 as a team.
