CHAPEL HILL–The No. 10 UNC women’s basketball team kicks off play in 2014 with a 2 p.m. home game against a dangerous James Madison team at Carmichael Arena.

The Tar Heels come into the contest winners of their last six games and sporting an 11-2 record. James Madison boasts a 10-3 record that includes impressive victories against Virginia, Pittsburgh and UCLA.

UNC will be hoping the lengthy hiatus from the hardwood won’t cool off its recent offensive output. Carolina is averaging over 100 points in its last four games.

And as for the defense, it hasn’t been too shabby either. The Tar Heels rank second nationally in both steals and field goal percentage defense.

Carolina will stay in Chapel Hill for its next contest, facing No. 8 Maryland on Sunday.
