In fact, all five scores were tallied by homeruns. The Hokies started things off with a solo shot to right-center by junior Amanda Ake.
With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Tar Heel junior Amy Nece reached on a walk.; redshirt freshman Jenna Kelly followed her and sent the ball over the left-field fence for the two-RBI homer and the lead.
But, Ake answered the shot with a lead-off homerun in the top of the fifth to tie the contest at two.
The Hokies left three stranded in the final two innings and the Tar Heels took the win. Junior Lori Spingola pitched the complete game and improved to 15-9 on the season. She gave up four hits, struck out six, and only walked three.
