The Tar Heels are coming off a shutout win over the Campbell Camels on Wednesday. Carolina did all its scoring in the first inning and the defense held for the 3-0 win.
That snapped a two-game skid for the Tar Heels. UNC fell to Florida State in a double-header on Sunday which allowed the Seminoles to take over second place in the ACC and dropped the Tar Heels to fourth.
Friday’s contest begins a ten-game home stand in which Carolina will face Appalachian State, James Madison, Virginia, and Elon in just 13 days.
The Virginia Tech series will conclude on Saturday with a double header beginning at 1:00 p.m.
All the action begins Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Anderson Stadium.
