CHAPEL HILL- The No. 1 North Carolina baseball teamcontinued its winning streak Tuesday as they defeated Davidson 10-2 and improved to 11-0 on the season.

The 11-0 start is the first time the Tar Heels have achieved this mark to start the season since 2000 when the team won their first 21 games.

Senior first baseman Cody Stubbs led North Carolina with three RBIs and a two-run home run. Sophomore second baseman Mike Zolk added three hits and freshman outfielder Skye Bolt reached a team-high of three runs.

Sophomore pitchers Trevor Kelley and Mason McCullough helped carry the Tar Heels and threw 3.1 hitless innings.

North Carolina competes in its ACC opener this weekend against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. The three-game series begins Friday at 6:00 p.m., and the action continues Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
