CHAPEL HILL – Whether at home or on the road, the No. 1 UNC baseball doesn’t struggle getting runs on the board.

The Tar Heels once again asserted their offensive dominance—this time against a top-30 team. UNC’s 14-2 seven-inning win over No. 30 Texas A&M marked the tenth straight. Carolina has outscored its opponents 97-27 so far this season.

Friday, North Carolina took down No. 12 Rice, but in one of its three one-run games of the season, 2-1. The Tar Heels also took down the California Golden Bears on Saturday, 11-5.

This weekend’s games were a part of the Astros Foundation College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Three Tar Heels were named to the All-Tournament team: freshman shortstop Landon Lassiter hit 6-12 with two RBIs and five runs scored; sophomore outfielder Michael Russell hit 3-10 with four RBIs and two runs scored; and junior pitcher Kent Emanuel threw for seven innings allowing only one earned run in eight hits and struck out five batters.

With the weekend wins, Carolina is now 10-0 on the season. That marks the third time since 2000 that the Tar Heels have achieved that mark.

ACC play begins for the Tar Heels this upcoming weekend, but before the matchup with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, UNC will host Davidson for a one-game mid-week series on Wednesday. First pitch between the Tar Heels and the Wildcats is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium.
