Tyler Zeller Traded to Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have added former UNC star Tyler Zeller to its roster, in a three-team trade finalized Wednesday including the Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Zeller, drafted 17th in the first round of the 2012 NBA draft, has averaged 6.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 147 games while in Cleveland. The Celtics may have just now found a center to play alongside their string of talented power forwards.
The Nets (who have now gotten Cleveland’s Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev) have also released point guard Marcus Thornton to join Zeller in Boston, completing the trade that may help the Cleveland Cavaliers bring Miami Heat champion turned free agent LeBron James back to his home state.
