Durham Bulls Fall In Triple-A Championship Game
ALLENTOWN, PA – The Durham Bulls fell one run shy of the Triple-A title as the Omaha Storm Chasers’ pitching proved to be too much to handle.
Omaha took the early 1-0 lead in the second and added another in the sixth. The Storm Chasers dominated at the plate with a 10-3 mark in hits, including two doubles.
The Bulls got on the board in the eighth with a solo home run by pinch-hitter Leslie Anderson, but couldn’t get any closer.
Omaha’s starting pitcher, Chris Dwyer led the way giving up just one hit in seven innings pitched while striking out eight. Durham’s starter, Jake Odorizzi also threw eight strikouts, but was responsible for five of the ten hits and one earned run.
The Bulls are the International League South Division Champions and won the Governors’ Cup for the fourth time since 2002.Did you see something wrong in this story, or something missing? Let us know
