CHAPEL HILL – With its first loss under its belt, the UNC baseball team held on to the No. 1 spot in the country ahead of Vanderbilt, LSU, Oregon State, and Florida State in the new polls released on Monday.

The Tar Heels took the series against the Miami Hurricanes this past weekend 2-1 afterfalling behind early. A 14-2 decision on Saturday and a 4-1 decision with a late homerun by freshman right-fielder Skye Bolt on Sunday improved UNC to 18-1, 5-1 in the ACC.

Tuesday, Carolina steps out of league play for a mid-week contest against Princeton. The Tigers are 1-10 this season, including a three-game series sweep by the ACC’s Maryland Terrapins. Princeton will stay in North Carolina until Wednesday facing Elon and UNC Greensboro in the same day.

This contest will prepare North Carolina for another road conference series against Boston College this weekend. The Eagles are winless in ACC play so far this season and 3-15 overall.
