WCHL’s coverage of high school basketball tips off Friday night when East Chapel Hill visits Chapel Hill in a local rivalry game.

It marks the second meeting between the teams this season as Chapel Hill, which went 19-9 last season, handed East a 73-59 loss on November 21.

East Chapel Hill, meanwhile, will look to shake off a 67-50 setback it suffered to Orange on Tuesday night.

Wildcat coach Ray Hartsfield will look for a better second half effort from his squad than it had versus the Panthers, as Orange blew the contest open for the decisive win.

“I thought we took their four point halftime lead at halftime and turned it into a 17 point loss,” Hartsfield says. “I thought we edged ourselves back in it and then we didn’t come out and compete in the second half.”

Paul Connell and Jeff Hamlin will have the call for the Wildcats-Tigers tilt, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. The game will also be streamed live on Chapelboro.com
