The Carrboro Jaguar boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are moving on to the second round of the 2A Mid-State Conference Tournament after double-digit victories on their home court Tuesday night.

The No. 3 seeded boys defeated Bartlett Yancey 75-63. Round two sends the Jaguars to Cummings High School in Burlington Wednesday night for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against the N0. 2 seeded Graham Red Devils. Carrboro dropped both regular season meetings with Graham, 78-68 on the road and 47-42 in Carrboro.

The No. 3 seeded girls took down Graham for the third time this season Tuesday night in the Mid-State opening round, 67-43. The Jaguar girls have a quick turnaround as well and will face the No. 2 seeded Cummings Cavaliers Wednesday night in Burlington. The game tips off at 6:00 p.m. on the Cavs home court.

A win propels a team to the championship round, which will be played Friday night at Cummings High School. The girls’ game tips off at 6:00 p.m. and the boys follow with a scheduled tip at 7:30 p.m.
