I had a dream . . . of a big weekend in New England.

Wonder how much play Carolina’s noon game Saturday at Boston College will get in the Globe sports section. Page 4, maybe? College teams don’t get much ink in Beantown, home of the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins and, by extension, the Foxboro Patriots. Those Pats host the Steelers in the AFC championship game Sunday night, and it dominates every written, spoken word and thought in New England these days.

But I dreamt last night that Tom Brady showed up behind the Tar Heels’ bench at BC because he is playing the late game Sunday and TB12 had the morning off the day before. Brady was wearing a Carolina cap, given to him by Roy Williams before the game. And while he does not generally cheer against any Boston team, Brady wanted to get all the championship karma he could get by sitting behind the Tar Heels instead of the woebegone Eagles.

The dream also had Brady, after Carolina smoked BC for its 18th win, inviting the entire team to the game Sunday night in Gillette Stadium, where the players and coaches squeezed into owner Bob Kraft’s suite with regulars Jon Bon Jovi and Big Papi. During the NFL headliner, cameras caught the Heels cheering on the home team. After the game, they were on the field for the trophy presentation that came with an invitation to Super Bowl 51.

Of course, it was only a dream, born from my affection for my favorite college basketball and pro football teams, and my belief that Brady did not really vote for Donald Trump, as widely reported until Brady’s super model wife Gisele Bundchen said that when it comes to politics her husband is an idiot. The dream concluded with Carolina wishing the Patriots good luck in Houston, reminding them that they won the national championship in the same stadium last March Madness.

Then, of course, I woke up and realized that none of it really happened, including Kris Jenkins missing the last shot and Carolina winning in overtime. To be honest, it was Brady telling the Tar Heels they will reign supreme at the Final Four in Glendale, Arizona, this April, since that’s where TB12 won his fourth Super Bowl two years ago.
