Chapel Hill High produces another lot of college-bound athletes.

Tim Bennett, the outstanding athletic director at Chapel Hill High School, does a great job keeping the local media informed about the Tiger teams and generating well-deserved publicity for his student-athletes. He inherited that role from his predecessor Todd Morgan and does every bit the excellent job Morgan did.

For example, Bennett recently emailed out the list of Chapel Hill High athletes who will be playing their respective sports in college, along with a photo of the proud group behind a school banner.

With thanks to Tim for providing the names and sports they play, here is the list:

Lacrosse players Connor Casabura are going to Ferrum College in Virginia, Lundy Fine to nearby Elon and Sean Voelkel to St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

Swimmers Jaylyn Forrest will be competing for East Carolina, Uma Knaven for the University of Denver, Ang Li at Amherst College in Massachusetts and Jacob Werden for Washington University in St. Louis, where former UNC Chancellor and current Washington Provost Holden Thorp will surely watch him swim.

Shea Golden will be playing volleyball at Middlebury College in Vermont, Julia Grant field hockey at Virginia Commonwealth and Maeve Gualtieri-Reed running cross country and track Oberlin College in Ohio.

Garrett Liebe will be playing baseball for Sewanee, the University of the South, in Tennessee and Baxter Soboleski football for Greensboro College.

Aidan McCormick will be competing in soccer for Winthrop University in South Carolina and Paul McLaughlin for Randolph-Macon College in Virginia.

Congratulations and best wishes to these 14 new college-bound athletes from Chapel Hill High School, and thanks again to Athletic Director Tim Bennett for promoting them and their successes that got them there.
