• Carolina is now 27-6 overall and 95-44 in the ACC Tournament. The 95 wins tie Duke for the most in ACC Tournament history (both schools are 95-44).

• Carolina is now 34-14 all-time in ACC Tournament semifinal games with wins in the last five appearances in the semifinals.

• Roy Williams is 20-10 in the ACC Tournament, including 7-3 in semifinal games.

• The Tar Heels will play in the championship game for the fifth time in the last six years and a record 34th time overall. UNC will be playing in the finals for the 19th time in the last 30 seasons and the 34th time in the 63-year history of the event.

• Roy Williams will be coaching in the championship game for the seventh time in 13 years. Only Dean Smith (21), Mike Krzyzewski (20) and Vic Bubas (8) have coached in the finals more than Williams.

• Carolina is 49-14 as the No. 1 seed.

• Carolina’s 31-point margin of victory is the largest in a semifinal game in ACC Tournament history. The previous largest margin was 30 by UNC in an 88-58 win over Maryland on March 11, 1989, in Atlanta (27 years ago today).

• The 47 points by Notre Dame is the fewest allowed by Carolina in an ACC Tournament game in 42 games since UNC beat NC State, 73-46, in the 1998 quarterfinals in Greensboro.

• The 31-point margin is the UNC’s largest in any ACC Tournament game since it beat Maryland, 102-66, in the 1993 quarterfinal in Charlotte.

• Notre Dame’s 47 points are the fewest allowed by the Tar Heels in any game this year. Previous low was 55 by NC State in Chapel Hill.

• The Irish’s 22 points in the first half was the lowest allowed by UNC in any half (previous 24 by Davidson in the first half).

• Carolina held Notre Dame to 30.0 percent shooting from the floor, the lowest by an opponent this year (previous was .343 by Davidson).

• Notre Dame’s second-half field goal percentage (.269) was the lowest in a half by an opponent since Davidson shot 23.5 percent in the first half on 12/6/15.

• Carolina has held the opponents under 45 percent shooting in 22 consecutive games.

• Carolina forced 17 turnovers. Notre Dame turned the ball over just two times in the Irish’s win over UNC in South Bend earlier this year. UNC forced 10 ND turnovers in the first half alone.

• Carolina attempted 19 free throws, two more than Notre Dame. In the previous two meetings, the Irish attempted 70 free throws against Carolina (and made 58).

TAR HEEL PLAYER NOTES

• Senior guard Marcus Paige led Carolina in scoring for the fifth time this year, 32nd time as a Tar Heel and the first time since he had 21 at Notre Dame on 2/6/16.

• Paige made four three-pointers, his most since he had five at Notre Dame on 2/6/16.

• It was the 20th time in his career and fifth time this year he made at least four 3FGs.

• Paige has 1,741 career points and is the 15th-leading scorer in school history. He is seven points shy of passing George Lynch for 14th place.

• Paige had seven assists (one fewer than Notre Dame). He has 576 in his career. He is ninth in UNC history and will pass Jeff Lebo for eighth with five more assists.

• Isaiah Hicks had his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. It was the 17th time this year he scored in double figures.

• Justin Jackson had 11 points, reaching double figures for the 10th game in a row and 23rd time this year. Jackson has scored 22 points in the first two games of the 2016 ACC Tournament, all in the second half.

• Brice Johnson scored in double figures for the 30th time this year with 12 points. He played a season-low 15 minutes due to foul trouble (played 18 at home vs. NC State).

• Joel Berry scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half, including a three-pointer at the buzzer that gave UNC a 41-22 lead.

• Berry has hit 11 threes in the last four games.

• Paige and Berry combined for 11 assists and zero turnovers. It was the first time they both had zero turnovers since Wake Forest on 1/20/16.
