GREENSBORO – The ACC’s 15 member institutions will fight for eight guaranteed bowl games plus one conditional game in the 2013 season, the conference announced Monday.

The highlight game for the conference is the Discover Orange Bowl, with which the conference earlier announced a 12-year partnership. If the ACC champion does not get a bid to the national championship game, it will do battle against a BCS opponent at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida at 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 3.

The bowls begin on Friday, December 27 with the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman. The conditional game—the Kraft Fight hunger Bowl—is the same day. The ACC would pick up that game if the Pac-12 or BYU are not able to fulfill their commitment to it.

Eight of the nine games will be carried on ESPN; the Hyundai Sun Bowl will be carried by CBS on Christmas Eve.
