The 4th of July is a big day around Carrboro, with lots of events including costume contests, concerts on the lawn, and even a parade! With all this family-friendly fun, it’s hard to tell who’s having more fun, the grown-ups or the kids!
The day began with WCHL broadcasting live from Weaver Street Market!
On the Weaver Street Market Lawn, the kids costume contest was underway!
The Bull City Stutters kept the event lively!
Then the party moved down the street to Carrboro Commons!
Kids of all ages enjoyed the misting tent!
Our very own Ron Stutts emceed the event!
Inside Carrboro’s Town Hall, there was a reading of The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro by Frederick Douglas.
Back outside at Carrboro Commons, there were lots of activities for the families!
The Welcome Wall at Carrboro Commons is a annual tradition!
